Ukrainian business is entering a new energy reality where electricity is no longer just an operating expense. Rising tariffs, energy system instability, blackout risks, and market transformation are shaping new rules of the game. According to market estimates, electricity costs for industrial enterprises have already risen by 30–60% in recent years. In peak periods, the difference between "cheap" and "expensive" electricity can reach up to four times. At the same time, some companies are not only reducing costs but also earning from energy by integrating solar power plants (SPPs), energy storage systems (ESS), and digital energy management systems (EMS). We spoke with Denis Kosoy, CEO of ETL Group, about why this "energy gap" between businesses exists, how enterprise economics are changing, and what lies ahead.
