The main factor driving the increased grid load is overcast and rainy weather across the western and parts of the northern regions. This has significantly reduced generation from domestic rooftop solar installations, leading to a corresponding increase in demand drawn from the national grid. Additionally, the daily peak consumption recorded the previous evening rose by 4.4%, driven by higher temperatures across most of the country compared to the end of last week.
Meanwhile, Russian strikes on energy infrastructure have caused new power outages across six regions:
-
Dnipropetrovsk Oblast
-
Kherson Oblast
-
Zaporizhzhia Oblast
-
Odesa Oblast
-
Kharkiv Oblast
-
Chernihiv Oblast
Emergency repair crews have already begun restoration work where security conditions permit.
Power grid operators urge consumers to shift the use of energy-intensive appliances to daytime hours—between 10:00 and 16:00—during peak industrial solar generation, and to strictly limit high-power appliances during the evening peak from 17:00 to 22:00.
