The launch of spray cooling ponds will allow to decrease the temperature of cooling pond water near to the NPP by 7-8 degrees in summer, thus boosting electricity generation in the hottest months.
“This project will significantly increase the possibility of the NPP to work at maximum capacity. Unfortunately, the martial law made adjustments, but we finished these projects under conditions of martial law, namely the third unit of Tashlyk HPSPP, the third and the fourth spray cooling ponds,” – Petro Kotin, CEO of Energoatom commented the project.
