Maxim Timchenko, CEO of DTEK said about it during the special session at the World Economic Forum in Davos on May, 25.
“I think that public acceptance [of nuclear power – ed.] is rather important. There are our arguments, why we see SMR can be deployed in Ukraine and the society of Ukraine can accept this technology. Building a prototype in Ukraine will show for the whole world that safety level is much higher on existent power stations. Then, we can promote it,” he said.
Meanwhile, Timchenko emphasized, the future of investments will fully depend on running of the Russian-Ukrainian war.
According to him, renewables and nuclear power should be developed to meet climate goals. The attention should be paid to energy efficiency and energy savings as well.
