The first tranche of aid was organised in March 2022 by the European Union's energy association EuroHeat&Power: European energy companies provided equipment and tools worth UAH 5 million. Part of the aid was redirected to our colleagues in Kharkiv.
In addition, in cooperation with the Red Cross of Ukraine, the Gender Committee provided 150 paramedic kits and 500 first aid kits for a total of UAH 3.2 million. The first aid kits were delivered to boiler houses, thermal power plants and emergency teams.
In addition, a food bank has been set up for KTE employees who have been working for weeks and continuing to supply the capital with heat under fire. In partnership with the Kyiv branch of the Samaritan Union of Ukraine, more than 12 tonnes of food were delivered. The Samaritans also donated blankets, flashlights, candles, portable stoves, rescue equipment and other aid worth UAH 1.4 million.
To teach employees how to act properly in emergencies, the trainings on medical and the first psychological aid were organised. The trainings were conducted by experts from the Red Cross of Ukraine, the Respawn School of First Aid and the Israeli Trauma Coalition. Since 2022, more than a thousand KTE employees have participated in 47 such trainings.
The estimated cost of the training is UAH 800 thousand.
Kyivteploenergo's Gender Committee has been operating for over five years. It was the first in the Ukrainian energy sector to implement a gender equality policy at the company. The company employs about 9 thousand people, 69% of whom are men and 31% are women.
