Lviv Insulator Company LLC was established in 2002 on the basis of the Lviv Insulator Plant, which had existed since 1965, and is the only manufacturer of glass insulators in Ukraine.
In April 2024, the Government decided to transfer Lviv Insulator Company LLC to the management of Ukrainian Distribution Networks, a state-owned joint-stock company. It was a transfer of 100% of the authorised capital of Lviv Insulator Company in the amount of UAH 11.05 million, which was arrested in the framework of criminal proceedings. The fact that Ukraine's only manufacturer of glass insulators should be transferred to state control was announced by the ARMA (Asset Recovery and Management Agency) at the end of December 2023.
At the same time, according to YouControl, the formal owner of the Lviv Insulator Company is still the Estonian company GIG Holdings OU. According to the SBU office in the Lviv region, the plant was actually managed by the Russian "Global Insulator Group", part of the Russian Group "UNAKO-Invest Co. Ltd", which, among other things, performs contracts for the Russian Ministry of Defence.

The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU) has granted permission to the PrJSC National Power Company Ukrenergo to acquire control over Lviv Insulator Company LLC. The decision was made at a meeting on December 19, ExPro reports.
