Electricity Consumption
Today, September 7, as of 09:30, electricity consumption was 2.4% higher compared to the same time on the previous working day (Friday, September 4). The increase is driven by cloudy conditions across several regions, which have reduced the output of household solar power systems and led to higher draw from the national grid.
Yesterday, September 6, the daily peak was recorded in the evening, coming in 2.2% lower than the peak of the previous Sunday, August 30. This drop was facilitated by cooler temperatures nationwide and a reduced need for air conditioning.
Power engineers urge consumers to shift intensive electricity usage to the peak generation hours of utility-scale solar power plants — between 11:00 and 15:00.
Impact of Shelling and Weather Conditions
Russia continues targeting Ukraine's civilian energy infrastructure. As of this morning, Russian attacks have resulted in fresh outages across four regions:
* Donetsk
* Odesa
* Sumy
* Kharkiv
Emergency repair crews are working wherever the security situation permits to restore power to all affected consumers as quickly as possible.
Additionally, adverse weather conditions (thunderstorms and wind gusts) left several areas without power in Mykolaiv Oblast. Local distribution system operators (oblenergos) are conducting repair operations in the region.
