Today, June 29, as of 09:30, electricity consumption in Ukraine was 7.4% higher compared to the same time on the previous working day (Friday). This sharp upward trend in grid load was also evident over the weekend: the daily peak on Sunday, June 28, exceeded the previous Sunday's peak (June 21) by 7.4%. The main driver behind this spike is the hot weather established across all regions of the country.
In addition to the temperature factor, the power grid remains under pressure from enemy strikes. Following a recent wave of Russian drone attacks, the power supply situation this morning is most critical in Sumy Oblast, which accounts for the largest number of newly disconnected consumers. Outages and grid damage have also been reported in Donetsk, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, and Poltava oblasts.
Emergency repair works are already underway in areas where the security situation permits, as energy crews work urgently to restore power to all affected residents.
Given the current deficit and the dynamic conditions within the power system, consumers are strongly urged to use electricity responsibly. It is recommended to shift the use of energy-intensive appliances to daytime hours—between 10:00 and 16:00—when industrial solar power plants operate at peak efficiency. Conversely, during the evening peak from 16:00 to 23:00, citizens are requested to practice maximum energy conservation.
