According to its release on December 4, the city plans to use the funds to purchase and install rooftop solar power stations with energy storage systems for educational institutions, a cogeneration power unit for the boiler house, and backup autonomous power sources (generators) for modular pellet boilers.
It is emphasised that the latest agreement is extremely important for the bank, as amid Russia's constant attacks on the country's energy system, it is imperative that local authorities take an active role in developing decentralised generation.
According to the bank's Deputy Chairman of the Board Yuriy Katsiyon, as of the end of November, Oschadbank has already financed about 40 MW of gas generation worth UAH 1 billion in 2024 in the large corporate business segment alone.
In particular, about 250 representatives of micro-, small- and medium-sized businesses have received loans from Oschadbank to strengthen energy independence since the launch of these programs in June 2024. This result has been achieved primarily due to the widespread use of government, international and partner cooperation programmes. Another 540 projects worth about UAH 2.2 billion are under consideration at Oschadbank.
Thus, the bank is currently considering several projects to install energy storage systems, which are to be implemented by the companies that won the tender for the provision of ancillary services by the NPC Ukrenergo.
