Fedorenko assumed the position following the election of the company’s former chief, Serhiy Koretskyi, as the new Prime Minister of Ukraine. According to ExPro sources, the Supervisory Board considered two candidates for the position: Serhiy Fedorenko and Yuriy Tkachuk, CEO of Ukrgasvydobuvannya, who was recently elected as a member of the Naftogaz Executive Board.
Prior to this appointment, Serhiy Fedorenko served as Chief Commercial Officer of Naftogaz Group. He has over 10 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
Previously, Fedorenko served as CCO at Ukrnafta, where he was responsible for petroleum product procurement and sales, supply logistics, gas and electricity trading, petrol station network management and development, and corporate B2B fuel sales. From 2015 to 2023, he worked as Commercial Director at Ukrgasvydobuvannya, where he was also a board member. Concurrently, he headed Naftogaz Oil Trading from 2019 to 2022.
In 2022–2023, Serhiy Fedorenko served as a volunteer in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He holds a Master’s degree in Political Science from the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy and an MBA from the Kyiv School of Economics.
