The Regulator left price caps in the electricity market at the current level

The Regulator has decided not to change the price caps in the electricity market starting in December. The relevant decision was made at a meeting on November 25, ExPro reports.

At the same time, a regulatory procedure to revise the price caps may be launched in December in case the market situation changes dramatically.
"At the same time, I would like to draw your attention to the fact that in order to objectively and correctly resolve the issue, if necessary, we will open the relevant procedure in December. This is to ensure that we have a window of opportunity in the event of a significant change in the market situation," Yuriy Vlasenko, the NEURC Chairman, said.


The current price caps in the electricity market are:
1) in the day-ahead and intraday markets:
maximum marginal prices from 00:00 to 07:00, from 11:00 to 17:00 – 5,600.00 UAH/MWh; from 07:00 to 11:00 and from 23:00 to 24:00 – 6,900.00 UAH/MWh; from 17:00 to 23:00 – 9,000.00 UAH/MWh;
minimum marginal price – 10.00 UAH/MWh;
2) in the balancing market:
maximum marginal prices from 00:00 to 07:00 – UAH 6,600.00/MWh; from 07:00 to 17:00 and from 23:00 to 24:00 – UAH 8,250.00/MWh; from 17:00 to 23:00 – UAH 10,000.00/MWh;
minimum marginal price – 0.01 UAH/MWh.
