The government has already allocated nearly UAH 1 billion for urgent measures and is preparing an additional UAH 2 billion in funding to protect energy facilities and energy equipment. This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Yuliia Svyrydenko following a meeting of the energy headquarters on preparing Kyiv for the upcoming heating season.

"We also continue to implement the experimental project to provide backup power for multi-apartment buildings in Kyiv—including the purchase and installation of batteries, inverters, and generators to keep elevators, engineering systems, and common area lighting running. We are providing all other necessary support to prepare the capital for winter," Svyrydenko wrote on Telegram.

At the same time, she noted that the responsibility for the quality and timely preparation of Kyiv for the heating season lies with the city authorities.

"The city must ensure the proper organization of work and utilize all opportunities provided by the state to prepare for winter," the Prime Minister emphasized.
