Former MP Maksym Yefimov faces an antimonopoly case. Last week, the Antimonopoly Committee began considering the case of the former MP Maksym Yefimov's acquisition of control over a mine in the Donetsk region. The AMCU announced this on its website on Monday, January 20.

In 2024, M. Yefimov acquired a stake in Novohrodivska Mine 1-3 LLC, which provides 50% of the votes in the supreme management body, but did so without the necessary approval of the Antimonopoly Committee.
Such actions may be considered a violation of the economic competition protection legislation. The case is ongoing, and the AMCU has the right to apply sanctions if the violation of the legislation is confirmed.
Maksym Yefimov is the main beneficiary (60.86%) of the energy company Donbasenergo, which he controls through Energoinvest Holding.
At the end of May 2022, Donbasenergo shut down the Slaviansk thermal power plant located in the town of Mykolaivka in the northeast of the Donetsk region due to shelling. The total installed capacity of the Slaviansk TPP is 880 MW. The Starobeshiv TPP, which also belongs to the company, has been under occupation since 2014 and has not been controlled by the company since 2017.
In addition, M. Yefimov, together with his business partner Eduard Bondarenko, owns Amadeus Co LLC, the "Parkovy" Exhibition and Convention Centre in Kyiv (also known as "Yanukovych's helicopter landing site").
