The new CEO faces a series of critical strategic priorities:

Restoring capacities damaged by Russian strikes (over 260 attacks on company facilities have been recorded to date).

Strengthening physical and engineering protection of hydro-technical infrastructure.
Valentyn Gvozdiy, Chair of the Supervisory Board, emphasized that the key selection criterion was the candidate’s ability to balance crisis management with the implementation of long-term technological solutions for energy recovery.
The Selection Process
The competition was conducted with the support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and involved international executive search firm Korn Ferry. The procedure adhered to OECD principles and consisted of several stages:

Talent mapping and forming a broad long-list of candidates.

Primary interviews and narrowing the field to a short-list of five specialists.

In-depth competency assessment and strategy presentations for the company’s development.

Final vote by the Supervisory Board based on recommendations from the Appointments and Remuneration Committee.
About Bohdan Sukhetskyi
The new CEO brings over 16 years of experience in the energy sector. He has been with Ukrhydroenergo since 2010.

Career: Prior to this appointment, he served as Deputy CEO for Commercial Affairs. From May 2025 to May 2026, he held the position of Acting CEO of the company.

Education: He holds degrees from the Kyiv National Economic University (Marketing Management and Business Administration in Energy) and the Kharkiv National Highway University (Construction).
