Completion of KhNPP construction will require 9 thousand employees

As P. Kotin noted, Energoatom has organised work with Ukrainian higher educational institutions that train future specialists to replenish the company's staff to implement large projects. The NNEGC also implements programmes with all polytechnic universities in Ukraine to finance the best teachers and students.
According to P. Kotin, the staff of the nuclear power generating company has decreased from 35,000 to about 30,000 since the beginning of the full-scale war. At the same time, almost a thousand people joined the military and went to defend Ukraine, and there are 3,000 people who betrayed Ukraine, signed contracts with Rosatom and stayed at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant. Another 2,000 people left Ukraine.
Energoatom is planning to complete the construction of KhNPP units 3 and 4 with Soviet-technology VVER-1000 reactors, as well as to implement projects for the construction of units 5 and 6 with American Westinghouse reactors in the future.
In the latest interview with French International Radio (RFI), Energoatom CEO Petro Kotin noted that "nuclear power plants are our resource. That is actually what our stability and energy independence are based on." He confirmed that the completion of KhNPP power units 3 and 4 has been fully agreed upon with Moldova, Poland, Romania, Austria, and Slovakia. "Now, they say that the EU does not support something. This is not true. All of Ukraine's neighbouring countries, including the European Union, have approved this construction," the CEO added.
