Demand for gasoline cars fell by 20% in September: which models were chosen most often

In September 2024, 2,100 new gasoline-powered vehicles were added to the Ukrainian fleet, down 20% year-on-year.

This was reported by the press service of Ukravtoprom.

At the same time, the share of gasoline cars in total sales of new passenger cars has also decreased. In September 2023, they accounted for 46% of the new vehicle market, while currently – for 37%.

The leader of the new gasoline car market last month was the Mazda CX5 crossover.

The most popular models of new passenger cars with gasoline engines in September were: Mazda CX5 (161 units), Skoda Karoq (135 units), Skoda Octavia (122 units), Hyundai Tucson (109 units) and KIA Sportage (108 units).

In September, the demand for imported used cars with gasoline engines decreased by 16% – to 7,800 units. At the same time, they accounted for 46% of the initial sales of used cars, compared to 44% last year.

The average age of used cars was 10.6 years.

The most popular models of imported used gasoline cars were: Volkswagen Golf (616 units), Audi Q5 (373 units), Volkswagen Tiguan (349 units), Renault Megane (326 units) and Skoda Octavia (312 units).

In September 2024, Ukrainians purchased almost 1.2 thousand cars imported from China. This is 8% less compared to September 2023.

In Ukraine, the leading regions in terms of electric vehicle registrations are the Lviv and Kyiv regions, as well as the capital.
