Scale of Destruction and Challenges
During the last autumn-winter period, the Ukrainian energy sector was once again targeted by intensive attacks. From October to February alone, DTEK Energo’s thermal power plants (TPPs) were subjected to 11 massive strikes. The enemy simultaneously deployed dozens of drones and missiles, causing significant infrastructure damage.
DTEK Energo CEO Oleksandr Fomenko emphasized that the restoration process is ongoing:
"We are continuing restoration work non-stop because the scale of damage remains unprecedented. The recovery of TPPs after the attacks will continue throughout 2026 and beyond. Our task remains unchanged — to restore capacity as quickly as possible so that Ukrainians have light and heat, and the power system remains resilient, especially during peak load periods."

Total investment by DTEK Energo into repairs, TPP restoration, and support for mines and machine-building plants has exceeded $1.12 billion (UAH 49 billion).
