The JSC Energy Company of Ukraine (ECU) and UGB (Ukrgasbank) have signed a cooperation agreement under the new accreditation mechanism for electricity traders.

"ECU has become the first energy supply company that the bank recommends as a reliable partner for enterprises and communities planning to sell green electricity," ECU said in a press release on February 13.
It is noted that the accreditation of electricity traders includes a detailed analysis of the performance indicators of energy companies, after which Ukrgasbank publishes data on them in an open list on its website.
"The development of green energy is one of the strategic priorities of the country's energy security. As leaders in their respective segments, ECU and UGB are mobilising all resources and joint experience to provide investors in green generation with maximum opportunities to operate in the electricity market and build new facilities," Vitaliy Butenko, CEO of the company, said
As reported by Energoreforma, the company has created a balancing group, which is the largest in size. It includes, in particular, the NNEGC Energoatom, as well as producers of green electricity.
"The company positions itself as a distributed generation operator and offers a full range of services to businesses and local communities to create power capacities for their own needs.
The company is a member of the Ukrainian Wind Energy Association and the Solar Energy Association of Ukraine and cooperates with other organisations that support the development of the renewable energy sector.
