M. Sandu said that she had a phone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi the day before, during which she was assured that Ukraine could supply coal to Transdniestria.
Moldovan DRES (MDRES) is currently operating with coal as reserve fuel, which will last only 24 days, so the region is in dire need of fuel.
According to her, the Government is negotiating with the "Transdniestrian authorities".
Moldovan government spokesman Daniel Vode also said that Chisinau cannot supply free gas to the left bank of the Dniester.
As reported by Ukrinform, on December 28, Gazprom announced that it would stop supplying gas to Moldova due to alleged debts from Moldovagaz.
On December 16, Moldova introduced a state of emergency in the energy sector.
