Estonia will transfer equipment from its power plant

"In the near future, Ukraine will receive a power unit from the Estonian Auvere power plant. It is capable of providing electricity to 150,000 people. We are also discussing the transfer of two more power units to Ukraine in 2025," the statement said.
It is noted that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Ukrainian power engineers have received 25 shipments of humanitarian aid from Estonia with a total weight of about 400 tonnes. Estonia's announced contribution to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund is EUR 400 thousand. According to Denys Shmyhal, through the EU Civil Protection Mechanism, Estonia has provided Ukraine with more than 140 transformers and over 300 units of energy equipment.
It is also reported that during a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Mykola Kolisnyk, the Estonian delegation led by Prime Minister Kristen Michal confirmed the need to consolidate international efforts to ensure not only the restoration but also effective protection of Ukraine's energy facilities.
The officials also visited one of Ukraine's energy facilities that was destroyed by targeted Russian attacks. M. Kolisnyk briefed the Estonian delegation on the consequences of the hostile attacks, as well as the current challenges and needs of the energy sector.
As reported, the Prime Ministers of Ukraine and Estonia signed a joint statement following their meeting on December 9, in which they called for increased sanctions pressure on Russia, a full trade embargo, as well as sanctions against Gazprom, Russian oil companies, and Rosatom. Besides, the document includes an agreement to strengthen sanctions against Russia’s shadow fleet.
