In 2024, the WOG filling station network transferred UAH 15.606 billion to the budgets of all levels, which is 48% more than in the previous year. Of this amount, UAH 2.32 billion was paid in operating taxes and UAH 13.28 billion in import taxes.
According to the company, operating taxes include income tax, VAT (except for VAT paid on imports), retail excise, personal income tax, military duty, land tax, and unified social tax.
"In 2024, WOG was ranked 12th among all the largest private companies in the country according to Ukrainian Forbes. Big businesses are important for the country because they are responsible for generating the lion's share of state budget revenues and, accordingly, for the supply of the Defence Forces. Thus, over 12 months of 2024, each operating filling station in the WOG network paid more than UAH 6.4 million in operating taxes," emphasised Mykola Tsyrkun, CFO of the WOG filling station network.
Personnel taxes for the 12 months of 2024 amounted to over UAH 747.9 million, up 42% compared to the same period in 2023. This amount includes the unified social contribution (USC), personal income tax (PIT) and military duty. This growth reflects an increase in wages in retail and increased competition in the labour market.
Over the past three years, WOG has paid almost UAH 30 billion in taxes and fees, the company added.
The WOG filling station network and fuel retail businesses in general set a certain trend by publicly reporting on paid taxes for the past 3-4 years. While only a few companies had supported this approach before, on February 24, 2022, this changed fundamentally. These days, the principles of openness, transparency and publicity in paying taxes for the benefit of the state have already become a trend. Businesses understand how important it is to pay taxes to the budget of the country these days so that tomorrow they will not have to be paid to the budget of the aggressor country, Mykola Tsyrkun commented on the issue earlier.
