The delegation of the International Energy Agency (IEA) presented a report with recommendations on the decentralisation of the electricity system at a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Roman Andarak in Kyiv. According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.

The IEA notes that Ukraine should work to meet not only current electricity needs, but also plan for the future. It emphasises the need to develop distributed generation, regional energy solutions, and strengthening coordination between government, businesses, and communities.
In addition, a decentralised energy system that includes expanding the use of rooftop solar panels, wind farms, battery systems, and small modular gas turbines will not only reduce the impact of attacks on the power grid but also contribute to Ukraine's long-term decarbonisation goals.
In his turn, R. Andarak thanked for the report and recommendations, noting the importance of professional expert exchange of views on the priority of further actions to develop Ukraine's energy system.
