Gas Quality and Winter Preparations: Association of Gas Producers Meets with GTS Operator

23.03.2026 17:49

The Association of Gas Producers of Ukraine and industry representatives held a working meeting with the management of LLC Gas TSO of Ukraine. The discussion focused on the strategic stability of the energy sector, preparations for the 2026/2027 heating season, and the resolution of critical operational issues within the industry.

During the meeting, three key areas were identified as having a direct impact on company operations amidst Russian attacks on gas production facilities:

Natural Gas Quality Requirements Due to recent legislative changes, approaches to gas quality require updating. Meeting participants emphasized the need to account for the specific characteristics of domestic production and the current realities in which Ukrainian companies are forced to operate.

Regulation of Gas Pipeline Pressure As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, particularly at depleted fields, producers are suffering forced gas volume losses. Regulating existing pressures within the system is a necessary condition for maintaining production levels.

Compromise Approach to Capacities Targeted strikes by Russia on production sites have led to output losses. This necessitates a discussion on compromise solutions regarding payments for capacities that were ordered but remained unused due to the attacks.

Artem Petrenko, Executive Director of the Association, thanked the Gas TSO of Ukraine team and Natalia Boyko personally for the constructive dialogue. He emphasized that joint efforts would ensure uninterrupted gas production, the efficient operation of the GTS, and the country's successful preparation for winter.
