The Ukrainian power grid remains in a challenging state due to previous massive Russian attacks. Today, March 23, power limit schedules for industrial sectors and hourly outage schedules for all consumer categories will be implemented nationwide from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

Consequences of Hostile Attacks and Recovery Efforts

Recent drone strikes on energy infrastructure and artillery shelling in frontline regions have caused new power outages. As of this morning, disruptions have been reported in the Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Sumy, Mykolaiv, and Kirovohrad regions.

Emergency restoration works have already commenced in areas where the security situation permits. Energy workers are making every effort to restore power to all consumers as quickly as possible.

Consumption Dynamics

Despite the restrictions, there is a downward trend in electricity consumption during daylight hours. Today, as of 9:30 AM, consumption levels were 1.4% lower than at the same time last Friday, March 20.

The reduced load on the grid is attributed to clear weather across most regions of Ukraine. This has facilitated the efficient operation of domestic solar power plants, resulting in a corresponding decrease in demand from the general grid.

Recommendations for Consumers

To support the stable operation of the power system, energy experts urge citizens to use electricity rationally:

  • Shift the use of high-power appliances (washing machines, water heaters, etc.) to daytime hours — from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

  • Avoid operating multiple energy-intensive appliances simultaneously during evening peak hours — from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
