Mass Power Outages Due to Shelling
Following another wave of enemy strikes on energy infrastructure, the most difficult situation this morning is in the Donetsk region, which accounts for the largest number of new power outages. In addition, consumers in the Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions have been left without electricity. Currently, emergency recovery operations have already commenced in all regions where the security situation permits. Specialists are doing everything possible to restore power to homes as quickly as possible.
Why Consumption Has Rocketed Upward
A sharp jump in consumption was recorded this morning, with figures coming in 7.9% higher than at the same time on the previous day. The primary reason is cloudy weather accompanied by rain in parts of the western and central regions. Due to the bad weather, the efficiency of household solar power plants dropped significantly, forcing people to draw substantially more electricity from the general grid.
On the previous day, the daily peak consumption also increased by 4.4% compared to the beginning of the week, which was linked to the complete absence of forced consumption restrictions.
Critical Hours: When High-Power Appliances Should Not Be Switched On
Power engineers emphasize that the situation in the energy system is dynamic and can change at any moment. To support the grid, Ukrainians are asked to adhere to a clear schedule:

From 10:00 to 16:00 — the ideal time to use washing machines, boilers, irons, and other high-power appliances, as industrial solar power plants operate actively during this period.

From 16:00 to 23:00 — the peak load period. During these evening hours, there remains an acute need for frugal energy consumption, so the use of powerful electrical appliances must be limited as much as possible.
