According to energy operators, as of the morning of July 21, Russian drone and artillery shelling caused new blackouts in the Kharkiv, Sumy, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Dnipropetrovsk regions. Emergency repair work is already underway wherever safety conditions permit.
Additionally, adverse weather conditions (thunderstorms and strong wind gusts) have left four settlements without power in the Poltava and Mykolaiv regions. Regional power distribution crews are actively working to restore the damaged power lines.
Electricity consumption as of 09:30 AM on Tuesday, July 21, remained unchanged from the previous day. However, on July 20, the daily peak consumption recorded in the evening was 4.3% higher than the peak on the previous business day (Friday, July 17), driven by the typical rise in energy demand at the start of the workweek.
Given the weather conditions, consumers are advised to shift the use of heavy electrical appliances to hours when industrial solar power plants operate most efficiently—between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM—and to practice rational energy use, as grid conditions remain subject to change.
