In his speech, M. Kolisnyk noted that the development of renewable energy is one of the requirements for Ukraine as part of its European integration. According to him, the country has potential in wind and solar generation, as well as geothermal technologies.
"In the future, Ukrainian biomethane may displace Russian gas from the European Union market," M. Kolisnyk noted.
He also added that the formation of regional energy independence passport maps will take into account the peculiarities of each region to further develop renewable energy and introduce distributed generation.
Reportedly, in early October 2024, the first produced biomethane was supplied to the Ukrainian gas transition system.
