Ukrhydroenergo to receive €200 million from the EIB for the restoration of hydroelectric power plants

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved a decision that will allow to receive €200 million from the European Investment Bank to ensure the operation of the Kaniv, Kremenchuk and Dnipro hydroelectric power plants. This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal during a session of the Cabinet of Ministers on January 28.

These funds are needed to purchase equipment to recover from the Russian terrorist attacks.
Also, according to the Head of the Government, another decision made at the session concerns the receipt of €100 million from the EIB to invest in the modernisation of district heating and energy efficiency of Ukrainian communities. This includes the purchase of boilers, engines, turbines and related equipment.
"In this way, we are strengthening our energy resilience," Denys Shmyhal emphasised.
The Prime Minister pointed out that Ukraine has the resources to finance all planned expenditures in 2025.
