Ukrtransgaz plans to buy another 100 million cubic metres of imported gas on the exchange

Ukrtransgaz (UTG), a member of the Naftogaz Group, is planning to purchase another 100 million cubic metres of imported natural gas. The first auction will be held on the Ukrainian Energy Exchange on February 11, according to the Exchange bulletin.

Terms of gas procurement

On February 11, Ukrtransgaz entered the stock exchange with the purchase of 25.596 million cubic metres of natural gas for transfer to the UGS facilities in February 2025. The natural gas is to be imported into the customs territory of Ukraine during February 12-28, 2025. The starting price is UAH 29,103 per thousand cubic metres (excluding VAT).

The total cost of all purchases should not exceed UAH 4 billion (including VAT). The company plans to purchase natural gas for delivery in February- March 2025 to increase the volume of its buffer gas in underground storage facilities

How much imported gas did UTG buy?


As a reminder, in December-January, Ukrtransgaz purchased 96.52 million cubic metres of imported natural gas on the Ukrainian Energy Exchange for delivery in January-March 2025 for a total amount of UAH 2.4 billion (excluding VAT). The company purchased gas with the additional tariff revenue received in 2023. Among the sellers of natural gas to Ukrtransgaz were ERU Trading, D.Trading, DEGS Holding, U.Commodities, Axpo Ukraine and others.
