The key tasks of the ESS Committee are:
- Developing best practices for integrating solar power plants with energy storage systems;
- Promoting the development of off-grid solar power plants and autonomous ESS operating on market principles;
- Improving legislation to stimulate the growth of energy storage installations in Ukraine.
Serhiy Ruchko, who previously chaired the Committee on Residential Solar Power Plants (RSPP), was elected as the Chairman of the newly created Committee. He is a
board member of the Association, and the founder of the GreenPowerTalk forum on Solar Power Plants.
Ruslan Cherney, a member of the SEAU Board, was elected as the new Chairman of the RSPP Committee by a vote of the Committee members.
As reported by Ukrainian Energy, 15% compensation is available for transformers made in Ukraine. The Ministry of Economy has tripled the list of domestic equipment eligible for compensation. The list includes 447 items from 19 manufacturers.
In 2024, Guaranteed Buyer (GarPok) paid almost UAH 58 billion to renewable energy producers. In particular, over the 12 months of last year, the state-owned enterprise Guaranteed Buyer paid renewable energy producers almost UAH 40 billion for the electricity supplied.

It operates on the basis of the Solar Energy Association of Ukraine (SEAU) As reported by the SEAU on Facebook, the Solar Energy Association of Ukraine has launched a Committee on Energy Storage Systems (ESS).
